Around Town-the 4th --blast off -- eating and more...

I guess it isn't really around town...
Just around our complex.
It is a beautiful area to walk...
Some hills...
Trees...
and so many patios with plants and gardens!
I love this one, it has plants all around it that they planted.
A lot of veggies.
Top and bottom is between the complex.
They have a row of of terraces with drains at each.
We have seen these filled so they work.

 Our patio
Shade Trees for Stan to park under...
We get lots of pine needles leaves and junk on the car...
BUT we have shade.

The Middle School...
The church is just the other side of the Middle School...
BUT  because of the chain link fence all the way around...
We drive a mile to get to church.

Lots of woods around us.

Elder Campbell is hiking up the hill from our apartment to the entrance and office.

Coming up the hill we saw a beautiful sunset.

Basket ball court...

Tennis court...

A pool that doesn't take a key and combination to get into.

Mail..

Office.. Manager is a member of the church she is in Deland 2

Little guard house...
In its day.

Outside the complex there are 'dirt' roads.
It really is sand.

Kids were playing in these woods...
They lost a little Autistic brother while playing a game of hide and seek...
We helped look for him..
He was hiding in their bathroom in their apartment!
The wild vines grow and cover all the trees...
It has to be worse then morning glory...

No gravel..it is crushed seashells

Dustin's Bar B Q is on the road and our complex is behind it.
I personally think that is why we are so quiet and 'safe'.
It is off the beaten path.
Going back down our 'hill'.

4th of July

We didn't like the idea that our family was having 'our' Stan Campbell Family Reunion at our home in Juniper and we couldn't be there.
So we invited the district for lunch.
We would have liked to barbecue but Taco soup and cookies and ice cream was a hit.
Elder Love Sisters Higgenson and Barlow Elders Bingham Cook Moultrie Haack and Back.
10 of us counting Elder and Sister Campbell.
We used the little table Stan bought to study on and we had room for all of us.

After dinner this is what they really wanted to do
BUT...
They are just posing.
They had to get to their homes shower change and...
Work...Work...Work

( Just a note--check out 'Genuinely Jarman' on the side bar to see the Stan Campbell Family Reunion)

Last District picture before Transfers...
Elder Back and Ellis are going home...
Elder Ellis and the Campbells
Elder Ellis' #12 and my #5

Elder Laramore needed his ears lowered...

Thursday Stan went with Elder Back and Moultrie to visit a couple of kids and the girl was baptized Saturday night.

Elder Haack and Bingham went to dinner with us Thursday evening...
We went to 'Main Street Grill'

Friday the last space shuttle Atlantis took off.
(no we weren't there, we couldn't even see it from our apartment because of the clouds...
This is our computer)

Saturday morning I did our shopping early and had four people come to me because of my name tag and ask questions.  I was able to visit with them and give pass along cards.

Sherri Hauert and her mother Ginger Jacobson came up from Orlando.
Our wonderful neighbors from Hunters Creek

We went to Main Street Grill...
It isanother wonderful place in Historic Downtown Deland.
This is a mosaic of a manatee and water falls all over.
Wonderful place to eat...
It is a wonderful place to take friends and family.
It is the President's favorite...
But we would like it anyway.

Elder Rullell M. Nelson said in the April Conference this year:
Truth, Covenants and ordinances enable us to overcome fear and face the future with faith!

This cannot not happen he said in what he called 'the cafeteria approach to obedience.'

Today in church the High Councilman (who was maybe 25 years old)
said that Elder Bednar said the same thing when he visited the Deland Stake.
'We can't take the cafeteria approach to living the gospel'

We cannot pick and chose what part we will and we will not do.
If we are disciples of Christ we must chose to live ALL of the commandments.
THEN...
Truth, Covenants and ordinances enable us to overcome fear and face the future with faith!
