In the treches

There are weeks when we see very little of the office and this was one of them.

Monday was Martin Luther King Day...

Stan and I had a couple of ideas as to what we would like to do...

BUT...

It not only rained--it poured

This is our screen, you can't see out it, the rain is coming in and...

 making a lake on our patio floor.

A couple inches deep at this point.

I didn't have to water the plants this week.

So...
we were wondering what to do..

Then the West side English and Spanish Elders called.

It was their Preparation Day and they thought they would get a hair cut at the office.

NOT.

So they came to our apartment.
I cut Elder Campbell's hair first before everyone got there
and four more Elders after they arrived.

 Last we'll see of Elder Fullmer.  

We just found out he is transferred to Clermont.

Stan had some Wheat mush on to cook...

he casually asked if they wanted to taste.

 Elders will NEVER turn food down.

 I added some bread and Pillsbury Cinnamon rolls.

(I always keep them in the fridge for moments like this)

One last hurrah for Elder Fullmer.

Tuesday was bail out day.

This old file and desk have been here for a very long time.

President wants us to look more 'Professional'.

 They put in two new horizontal files and a made to fit top...

making it into a desk top.

It is much nicer to do mail here.

Wednesday we got a call from Elder Volorio and Cook...

they locked their keys in the car.

(won't say which one did the deed).

 Elder Volorio and Cook are both Hawaiian..

as well as Spanish Speaking Elders in the Conroy area.
 

 Elder Campbell has the extra keys...

That was easy.

Just found out Elder Volorio is going to take Elder Trotter's place in the Hunters Creek area now.

He will be a West side Spanish Elder.
Elder Wood is a trainer...
Tuesday transfers we will find out who the new Elder is that will be with us.

Late Wednesday evening we got a call from Sister Gervais and Reed.

Their car quit.

They were able to get it into a Care Center Parking Lot.

Thursday morning we got the call...

There was diesel in their GAS tank.

Once again I won't point fingers.

It was an honest mistake and the sister felt SOOOOOO Bad.

This parking lot was empty last night....

 Elder Campbell is trying to decide how to get it out of there.

It won't start.

 That is the care center.
The car was way over on the right side of it.

Believe it or not...

There was actually a small grade.

I drove they pushed.

I stopped at the stop sign.

There was a small hill down onto the road.

When there wasn't any traffic they gave me one good push...

I got it to the grass by the park in the shade on the other side of the highway.

Their comment was...

"Way to go Sister Campbell!"

 Elder Campbell tried several different ways to cyphone

But no luck...

 Sooo

The sisters made calls...

I made calls...

(I know Relief Society Presidents in each Zone)

A member of the ward did the work for us.

It is all in who you know.

We had a nice lunch with the sisters at Chilies and it was back to work.

(They serve in Palm Bay a little more then a hour away from the office)

We got back to the office about seven and put things away.

Elder Brown called to say he needed Elder Campbell to go with them to teach a sister.

So I went home in our car and got ready for bed.

I thought Stan was going to meet them...

He borrowed their pickup to help the sisters.

Well I was in my robe, contacts out, makeup off bear feet bare and a knock came to the door.

That's right...

The missionaries.

They came in but we left the door wide open....
Elder Campbell was not here.

That was uncomfortable.

They loved it!


 Friday the Farnsworths 'dropped' in...
They were the Mission President couple
before the Darringtons.
It was fun listening to the old and the new visit...
Somethings haven't changed...
others are brand new.

Saturday Yessenia Peralta was baptized.
The missionaries have been teaching her mom Nelly.
She isn't ready but Yessenia was...
The youth in the ward have latched onto her..
and are doing a wonderful job fellowshipping her.
She chose Philip Mauigoa (a priest) to baptize her...
and Wuki Mauigoa (not quite sixteen) to speak on the Holy Ghost.
It was such a spiritual experience for these boys.
Tears were shed.
Their parents are wonderful people.
These boys are the oldest of eight with twins (boy and girl) at the end.

 Ok...
After the baptism Elder Fullmer hinted that we needed to take him out to eat because he will be leaving for Clermont on Tuesday.
Then he Winked...
That is quit a wink.
So we took them out...
We had to include the East side Elders as well..
Then they called and asked if Yessenia Nelly and Samantha could come.
Elder Fullmer had chosen Fridays...
We gulped and said...
Sure!

 The West side Elders had their pick up, and the East side were on bikes around where Fridays was.

 Elder Jensens tire went flat.  It was gone.  The West Side Elders took them and their bikes home after dinner.  Good thing because they wouldn't all fit in our van with their bikes.

Elder Fullmer is a west side Elder and the East side are responsible for Jennifer's baptism.
BUT they support and help each other in the baptisms.
All five Elders sang Love at Home at Yessenia's baptism.
It was beautiful.
Elder Fullmer has a base that is to die for.

The weather has been wet on both ends of the week
But beautiful and balmy in the middle.
We have been on some wonderful afternoon and evening walks.
As I watch and observe our Missionary family...
and our own family...
It is evident that God is in control...
and knows each of us personally.

Coming home from Palm Bay.

Faith in Jesus Christ gives us strength to leave the past behind...
and look ahead to a brighter future.
