A little of this and that

This Egret is drinking in the sun.
Birds really are not afraid of anyone.
A totally black cat circled my legs all the way to my apartment.
I went to visit my neighbor...
I told her how that cat circled my legs.
Her Grandson in the back room hollered out from the back bedroom.
"You are a witch!"
Of course I answered...
"Yes I am...
Cerified at Hogwarts.
Be good or I will turn you into a...
Cedar Tree."
Who knew Elder Wood could strum and sing.
Surprises around every corner.

Speaking of surprises...
Boxes and more boxes..
Did I say we have a lot of boxes?
Sister Ellsworth examining a package from home.
Elder Schow and Sister Snyder looking on.
Elder Schow getting his...
Going home hair cut.
Our in house Geek goes home next Wednesday.

Elder Beckstead came back for a visit...
Elder Stander is his companion.
They had lunch with us.
They are a lot of fun.
Elder Stander is an Elder from a farm in Blackfoot.
(Elder Schow looking on...)
A note that came with Stan's vehicle reports...

Sister Homer's art work on the envelope her baptism record was in.

Sister Keung is from New Zeland...
This is a postcard sent to her.
Beautiful.

Harriot.
She went to the employment center looking for a job.
Now she is doing an internship there.
She stops in everyday on the way to the bus..
She likes our company...
But she also loves the Peanut M&M's.

Brother and Sister Herzog
They took all the Senior Couples to dinner Saturday night.
He has done this for the last decade or so...
He is such a missionary he does the temple tours plus so much much more.
They feel that since we are here without our children at Christmas they should treat us.
He has always done this.
But this year there were so many people at the Grand Floridian he couldn't get reservations.
So we went to the Contemporary Resort and ate at the Wave.
It is a completely fresh organic place to eat...
Organic only means all the refined food they feed you starts organic.
It was  a delightful night.
Disney at night is an awesome place.
Even Stan was blown away by it all.
The next pictures are of our evening.
The Grand Floridian is an amazing Hotel...
it is only $400 a night.
(Sorry about blurry pictures, where is Tawny when we need her?)

Disney World is magic...Roses grow there.

Sister Swain taking it all in.

 Me and Stan

Read what goes into this Gingerbread house...where they sell gingerbread cookies.

The next pictures are at the Contemporary Resort.

Elder Rydalch Doxey and Hyer.
Elder Rydalch is taking Elder Doxey's place as Assistant.
Elder Doxey is now a District Leader and trainer in Ocoee.
This was his choice....
He wanted to be a trainer one more time before he goes home in January...
and it is where he started his mission almost two years ago...
Ocoee.
They came to dinner tonight, Sunday.
What a treat to have them here this evening...
The end of a beautiful day.

As we go about each day we can see Christmas and all the hub-bub going on...
The commercial side.
We are so involved in the work of the Lord we don't have time to get involved in the chaos of Christmas.
It was even hard to find time to locate a tree and put it up.
Yet we have never felt His closeness and Spirit more then we do now.
He is real
His whole life was so we could have joy and happiness...
Through Him.
What a wonderful time of the year...
To find the Savior and Celebrate His birth...
And His Life.

Christmas is in the air...

Stan and I went for a walk...
and this is what we found...

Next 3 pictures the mission home.
That is a tree in bloom

Yes those are flowers
Apartment dwellers...
do some really creative things with patio's

This is the home by the East Missionaries.
I took one earlier with fall decorations.
I really took this one because of the hanging pot of petunia's

I walked past these trees at the grocery store...
I had to stand there and inhale
Yum.....
Around the corner from the trees...
are newly planted petunias.
Poinsettia's Snap dragons and petunias at the temple.

Elder Schow is going home.
He has been a fantastic 'office Elder'
It will be a miracle if we get another Elder who is happy...
in the office.

Okay I know this is very warm to most of you...
But here...
in Orlando...
we are freezing.
I checked on line..
our humidity isn't as high as most of you either.

No mending except Stan's pants..
but I cut hair and had a lot of fun with the missionaries.
Stan took the missionaries and an investigator
to the temple tour.
I had to stay..
No room in the car for me  :-(
The temple was open and we did go early Saturday morning.
Nativity at the temple

The Christmas season is wonderful in many ways. It is a season of charitable acts of kindness and brotherly love. It is a season of being more reflective about our own lives and about the many blessings that are ours. It is a season of forgiving and being forgiven. It is a season to enjoy the music and lights, parties and presents. But the glitter of the season should never dim our sight and prevent us from truly seeing the Prince of Peace in His majesty.
Let us all make this year’s Christmas season a time of rejoicing and celebration, a time when we acknowledge the miracle that our Almighty God sent..
His Only Begotten Son,
Jesus Christ,
to redeem the world!
