SUCH A PRIVILEGE

There is so much that doesn't get captured on camera.

It is always fun when 'I remember' or it is appropriate.

Elder Campbell went with the missionaries a couple of times and I was able to be with them one night.

Being with and watching these guys work is amazing.

They have so much love for these people.

They work through the spirit only.

We will never be the same for being in their presence.

What a privilege.

I am still cutting hair and mending preparing soup and meals...

this is something that never changes.

There are still reports and vehicle up keep

I am blown away at the work it takes to maintain 50+ vehicles.

Plus the bikes that need repaired, gathered up, put together moved and did I say repairs?

Stan works very hard.

I am along for the ride.

AND

What a ride it is.

Our Hunters Creek Zone Leaders.

 After the birthday dinner we went with the Zone Leaders to visit two less active sisters.
I have made a full account in my journal because I don't want to put personal information on the blog.
But I will say that this was a very spiritual experience.
Why are we so blessed to be here?
What a privilege it is. 
(wait I think I have already said that)

 

Saturday morning we had Mission Correlation meeting.

A good move because we have been holding it after church on Sunday and Brother Creevan couldn't take it to Ward Council till the next Sunday Morning. This way he can take our missionary business to ward council the next morning.  We have east and west missionaries in our meeting.

After that the west Elders talked us in to Taco Bell.

I can't believe how hard that food is to digest.

In the after noon Andy was baptized.

The baptism of this wonderful 14 year old boy was amazing.

These missionaries had the young men give the talks and prayers.

Sebastian baptized last September talked about baptism

and Piero did the Holy Ghost.

These were all 13-14 year old boys.

It was pure inspiration.  


The greatest good we can do in helping others become what they can become...
will be to lead them to the Savior.

Transfers make time fly...Memorial Day

(A note for last week. I mentioned the smoke and that I hadn't experienced that much since 2004--Sorry that is 2007)
When time is calibrated in six week increments...

time flies.

Every six weeks, as I have explained before...

we have missionaries go home...

missionaries come fresh from the MTC...

AND

the rest of the missionaries either stay in place or fill missing places--

or train the new missionaries.

It never ceases to amaze me.

You have such a shake up...

YET

The Lords work moves forward as if nothing has happened.

The new missionaries quickly get in step

and within a few weeks they are working like pros.

Tuesday Transfers

Sister Millyard is going home to Alaska.
She didn't leave till 6:00 PM Wednesday night.

Tuesday night we got to know Elder Stock who is taking Elder Jensen's place with Elder Whitworth on the Hunter's Creek East Side.

 We are eating at the Azteca...good food and company

and helping new missionaries get bikes
and storing bikes for missionaries who couldn't get them to their area.

This week was the crunch to get the baptism reports in and sent to SLC before June 3 (69) as well as the reports completed for the President.
It all worked and it was good to be busy.

Elder Campbell has run several marathon's this week
After transfers there were a lot of lose ends.

Thursday he delivered Elder Wallace and Slemboski's bikes.
They left them at the office because the people who were taking them to their new area didn't have a way to carry them.
Elder Stander traded his companion Elder Overby bikes because Elder Stander was going home and his bike was better.

Elder Campbell took Elder Overby's old bike to Elder Chandler who had been using a member's bike in his last area, he will be going home in six weeks.

Stan also took a bike tube to Elder Capps (Elder Chandler is his new companion).

Elder Shelly had been in the office to go over maps and update the map book.
He went with Elder Campbell and took  Elder Brandenburg's wheel to Bike works to be repaired.

Friday Elder Campbell went to Conway where our Elder Brown is with his trainee Elder Sharp. (Semeron West Area) Elder Sharp's bike came after transfers so they put it together.

He went to Oveido (Velencia East) with Elder Ho Ching and Klekas.  Elder Ho Ching is training Klekas.
Elder Klekas' bike came broken so Elder Campbell helped get it to where it could be repaired.

Then he took a box springs to Elder Kimple and Stratan.

Then he went to help with a bad battery in College Park -
Shawn Rice and Berhold - where Elder Berhold has just moved to.

Then he took a vacuum to Elder Jensen and the other Elder Wood.
Saturday we went to the temple Elder Campbell ate then was off once again.
He boxed up another bike to ship -
then went to Windermere to collect a bike that was an extra one a missionary left.

He cleaned and washed the Van...
He came back to the apartment to eat then took the van back to the office unload the things he collected Then made calls.
I went to retrieve him and bring him back to the apartment.

 Memorial day I was the only one from the Mission office who took the day off.
The Powers work in the Employment office and that office was closed.
We went for a walk along Shingle Creek.

 I am always blown away at the beauty and quiet in the middle of the Metro area.

I have had a lot of thoughts this memorial 'season'
We are proud of our son who is serving in Afghanistan and sacrificing so much while we enjoy the comforts of this country.
It has given me great reflection knowing that not only Joe is sacrificing but his family as well.
We love them and appreciate all they do.
Thank you.

I have also had thoughts of my mom and dads who are no longer here and would like to say..
Thank you for all you have done to shape me into the person I am.
Then to my daughter Ruth- husband Nick and daughter Audrey.
We miss you guys...

Well we had a little bit of rain but not near enough.

President Monson's testimony speaks the things of my heart.
"I share with you my love for the Savior and for His great atoning sacrifice for us...
I believe that none of us can conceive the full import of what Christ did for us in Gethsemane,

I am grateful every day of my life for His atoning sacrifice in our behalf...
He passed beneath all things that He might save all things. 
In doing so, He gave us life beyond this mortal existence.  
He reclaimed us from the Fall of Adam.  
To the depths of my very soul, I am grateful to Him. 
He taught us how to live. 
He taught us how to die.  
He secured our salvation."
