Today I have been pondering life...
and...
love.
As far back as I know...
in my family there has been contention among siblings.
Way back to Joseph Elijah Fordom
No details...
BUT
It is something that has prevailed...
I have overcome a lot in my life...
I have tried so hard...
BUT
There is that same contention amongst our children...
I pray for healing...
I pray that Love will prevail...
Saturday Stan and I had the privilege to witness family love in action.
Our dauther in law Melissa Moser Campbell
Comes from a family that is a perfect example of that Christ like Love that should exist in families.
Melissa's mother passed away Wednesday January 2, 2012
After a extremely valiant battle with cancer...
She wouldn't take it lying down...
Nor did she allow her family to give up.
One thing she taught her family was...
I may not love what you are doing
BUT
I Love You.
This was really put to the test when her son declared he was Gay.
It took the wind out of the family.
BUT...
This great lady reached out and loved her son and his partner.
She showed the others how love works...
The funeral was beautiful
One of the best I have ever attended.
BUT...
It was the lesson this family taught us that spoke louder than words.
This wonderful son...
Was included in the program...
He was given pure unconditional love by all his siblings and extended family.
Love can be given to anyone...
NO MATTER WHAT THEY DO OR SAY.
The Savior taught that great lesson in the life He lived.

It is always amazing to me to see these guys...
Pallbearers...
So much love and tenderness for the deceased.
So much Priesthood power..
Lined up to do such a wonderful work.
Ben and Melissa with Melissa's sister next to her with Ross.
Grandpa Ross saying his last good bye's
It was so cold...
Yet these flowers...
Like Darlene...
Just wouldn't give up.
Ben's family absent is little Ross.
She will be missed...
But the legacy she left will live on in her children and grandchildren.
New Year 2013
We went to bed early
BUT
New Years day we had Chris' family and Ben and Steve
for a wonderful meal.
Melissa was with her family in Rigby.
So glad she could be there with her mom.
Reigan was cold so she put the heat pack on her head...
Reigan playing picture domino's with Grandpa
Sierra and Jayden
Jose
Reigan is still trying to get warm...
This time in Jayden's coat.
Maybe Serra thinks she is our couch...
Angie knows her computer...
She is an up and coming computer Geek.
Jayden is still working on our Santa puzzle.
Sierra is quite the gal...
Oh oh...
This is what I get for giving Reigan the camera to click some Pics.
Seirra again being herself...
Becky and Larry's family came out to visit and play in the snow...
they brought this to us...
Five years ago our daughter husband and little girl were killed in an accident.
The girls collected Audrey's things and were going to make a shadow box out of it.
Years have passed and I thought it was forgotten...
Well Larry built the shadow box 37x37 sq.
It is very impressive...
When Becky put it together she left the pants with the dirt
Boots with manure..
clogs with dirt still on them...
Her little gloves just as she left them
She was only two but she did a few competitions for toddlers
some of which included a stick horse...
The last Rodeo...
Diana Jo (aka Joie) was competeing.
It was her first year for real Queen Competition.
She got Miss Conventionality.
Not quite eight years old...
That same day Audrey did her stick competition.
Here she is with the other toddlers and her prize in hand...
The blue ribbons in the shadow box came from actual competition on a horse.
Here she is watching her big sister perform.
****************
It has been very cold...
We have had fog that has kept us a little bit warmer then surrounding areas.
It is so beautiful as much as I hate it.
I couldn't stop taking pictures of the snow.
Blackpine..
Entering Logan...
The temple is so pretty on the hill...
Sorry about all the stuff in front of it.
In the Evening coming home from Logan...
The fog frost everything...
Sunrise on our trip up to Rigby for Darlene Moser's funeral...
Dani showing off her new hardware...
Melissa came home with the kids then went to Logan to get braces for Dani...
All planned before Melissa's mom died.
The boys..
Dylan and Ross above...
Ben and Steve below...
Having some of Grandma's 'Campbell' soup.
Today the fog lifted...
Sunset coming home from the funeral...
President Thomas S. Monson January 2012
Living the abundant life.
At the advent of the new year.
I challenge latter-day saints..
everywhere to undertake a personal,
diligent,
significant
quest for what I call the abundant life--
a life filled with abundance of success,
goodness,
and blessings.
Just as we learned the ABC's in school.
I offer my own ABC's to help us all gain the abundant life
A. Have a Positive Attitude.
William James wrote,
"The greatest revolution of our generation is the discovery
that human beings,
by changing the inner attitudes of their minds,
can change the outer aspects of their lives.
B.Believe in Yourself.
B is for believe--
in yourself,
in those around you.
and in eternal principles.
C. Face Challenges with Courage.
C is for courage.
Courage becomes a worthwhile and meaningful virtue
when it is regarded not so much as a willingness
to die manfully
but
as a determination to live decently.
